About Tamisha Lee

My academic coursework, clinical training, supervisory, case management, and volunteer experiences have prepared me for my career working with those in need of community-based resources and services; particularly at-risk youth who have been historically marginalized, such as individuals of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and those contending with visible or “invisible” disabilities. I have worked as a liaison and advocate for the Vallejo City Unified School District in California. I have also worked as an Associate Behavior Specialist, supervising novice interventionists and providing direct behavioral in-home, school, and community-based interventions for children and adults diagnosed on the autism spectrum and other pervasive developmental disabilities. The breadth and depth of my professional experiences have provided a plethora of opportunities to hone my clinical skills as I have had an opportunity to work in several areas, which include working as a Clinical Director of a Level 4I Group Home, working with teens ages 16-23 and adults 23-59, operations manager, academic advising and support for school-age children, among others. I have also worked directly with the care coordinators to facilitate follow-up referral services to specialty mental health providers and connect patients to community resources. Focusing on sharpening my awareness of the need for advocacy and education directly focused on underserved and under-resourced communities of color; particularly, undocumented individuals. These forums have allowed me to work on reducing suicide risk, social stigma, and trauma associated with mental health.
