About Tammy Buehler

Experienced and dedicated librarian who is able to manage, organize, evaluate and communicate effectively in a busy library environment. A team player who is committed to providing support to members of the academic community including faculty, staff, students and public patrons. I was bitten by the "library bug" as a young girl in fifth grade and immediately knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. Over the years, I have worked in several kinds of libraries; school, public, law and academic. I have had the privilege of working at the Sherratt Library, serving the faculty, staff and students of Southern Utah University's campus, for the past 17 years in many different capacities. Since 2019, I have been the Resource Sharing/Technical Services Librarian/Coordinator where I oversee the acquisitions, cataloging, interlibrary loan, and serials (technical services) department. I perform original cataloging, manage electronic resources, and perform library catalog maintenance. I manage the curriculum, art & design, and computer & information science collections including cataloging, shifting and weeding as well as created many of the outreach designs for library events. I enjoy helping patrons at the Questions (Reference) desk with their research needs and teaching an undergraduate Information Literacy class and an upper division and graduate level Cataloging class (Organization and Access) in an online and face-to-face environment.
