Performs a variety of professional level accounting duties for both the business and property management involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records,and reports; maintains the accuracy of both the company's financial systems as well as the properties financial systems. Assists in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and year end closing.Responsible for the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, worker’s compensation, life insurance). Provide excellent customer service and quality benefits plans, investigates new benefits programs, improves existing programs, and supervises and monitors benefits administration as well as designs employee benefits plans and provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefits programs. Negotiate with insurance and retirement plan providers and make recommendations regarding the best choice in accordance with company goals. Assist newly hired employees with enrollment, and meet with all employees during open enrollment periods to explain plan changes and options if applicable. Responsible for processing billing and resolving discrepancies with insurance providers. Communicating with employees to ensure thorough understanding of benefits, consulting with individuals about coverage for medical procedures and following guidelines for legal compliance.
