Rock climbing is a passion of mine and it has become an integral part of my identity. It is a sport that enriches and challenges my mind, body, and soul. When I'm looking up at a 60ft+ rock wall that I'm about to climb inevitably there are times when fears and doubts can creep into my head. On those occasions, I take several deep breaths to clear my mind and focus on looking at the route and getting myself excited to start a fun vertical adventure. As I start climbing with my hands grabbing the first holds and my feet stepping off the ground, my mind and body become focused on one thing only.how to solve the puzzle of the route and to climb as efficiently as possible to the end.The reward to outdoor climbing is making it to the top to soak in the most beautiful views from a unique vantage point. Rock climbing gives me an appreciation for my life, nature, sense of community with my fellow climbers and overall ability to handle risk and challenges. The mental toughness and strive to be efficient in my climbing life translates to my professional life. Though I climb the wall as an individual, I need a belay partner who is responsible for my safety by holding the rope that catches me if I fall. We trust each other and maintain clear communication during the climb. On the job, I excel as an individual contributor but it is important to me to build strong partnerships with my clients and teammates so that we collectively can be successful and get the job done. In summary, my strongest traits on and off the climbing wall is my ability to remain calm when faced with challenging situations and problem solve. I produce smart solutions to ensure the success of my customers and make it a priority to gain trust through effective communication and follow through.
