As a leader with more than 25 years working in the health and safety sector, I’ve learned that the best results come from bringing people together and working toward a common goal. I’m passionate about creating environments where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered to contribute their best. Whether I’m leading teams, collaborating with stakeholders, or building partnerships, I believe in the power of clear communication and genuine engagement to create real, lasting change. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of influencing outcomes at the worker, organizational, industry, and provincial levels. From tackling health and safety challenges to driving innovative initiatives, I’ve seen firsthand how effective collaboration can lead to meaningful solutions. My work with a multi-stakeholder group focused on mental health awareness and suicide prevention has been some of my most rewarding to date. This group of passionate industry leaders were awarded the Canadian Mental Health Association NL 2024 Leadership Award for the amazing work they are doing to make a meaningful difference in the lives of construction workers, their families and the communities in which they live. I’m also committed to giving back through volunteer work, like my involvement with the Steps for Life Walk, where I’ve helped raise awareness about workplace health and safety and almost for the national charity Threads of Life - The Association for Workplace Tragedy Family Support. I believe in making a difference—both in my professional life and within my community.
