About Tammy Steele

In my role as Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving at Bridgewater College I look for unique ways to engage all Bridgewater alumni. I create opportunities of connection among alumni and with current faculty, staff and students through interactive, in person and virtual events, volunteer opportunities and philanthropy. I graduated from Bridgewater College with a Business Degree in May of After graduating from college I was employed with JMU in Human Resources and then Athletics Marketing before moving onto unique event planning roles with the American Cancer Society, Sunnyside Retirement Community and the JMU University Events office. My final position at JMU was as the Executive Assistant for the Honors College. I have been working in the event planning industry for over 11 years. I was the Community Manager for the local Harrisonburg chapter of the American Cancer Society and assisted with the planning and implementation of the Relay for Life of Harrisonburg/Rockingham County, Page County, Bridgewater College and James Madison University. I have experience coordinating hundreds of volunteers, collaborating with local businesses for setting up Relay teams and creating monetary donation relationships. I enjoy planning events and working with the faculty, staff and alumni to ensure the goals of Bridgewater College are handled with the utmost care, creativity and quality.
