About Tamyca Goff

Determined. Motivated. Focused. If I had to choose a few words that describe me in totality, they would be the ones listed above. I've learned that moving through life determined to make something of myself and staying motivated has allowed me to persevere through difficult situations. Focusing on my path and creating the life I want for myself is a reason why I am the hardworking young woman I am today. Over the years, I've not only realized and honed on my passion for sports but also my passion for helping people. I have always been interested in the mechanical aspect of movements, especially in athletics. I grew up loving sports, not only for the enjoyment and entertainment but for the physical aspect of it. Once I discovered that through a career like Athletic Training, I could learn the mechanics of movements and injuries, I knew I had to get on the road to matching my passion with my purpose. Throughout undergrad and post-graduate classes, I've worked to establish my place in the field and gather the means to not only become an Athletic Trainer but also be successful at it. Pursuing a Master’s degree in Athletic Training gave me the knowledge and tools needed to be successful in the field. On top of helping and assisting others, I especially enjoy learning new things, which is why I believe this field is the one for me. You're constantly exploring new ideas and methods and applying them to the rehabilitation and strengthening of patients/athletes. Seeing a patient recover from an injury and build up the strength and confidence to return to their sport is exactly what fuels my motivation.
