About Tania Collazo

I am a registered and certified dietitian nutritionist (RDN,CDN) and Chef based in Brooklyn, New York. Currently, I serve as the Senior Director of Nutrition at JASA, New York's leading social service agency dedicated to supporting the aging population. In this role, I oversee nutrition programs that promote health and well-being for older adults, ensuring they have access to the resources they need to live healthier lives.In addition to my position at JASA, I am the President of the Association for Healthcare and Foodservice (AHF), where I work to advance food service standards within healthcare settings. I am also deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of dietitians, serving as a preceptor for dietetic interns and as a faculty member for the New York Distance Dietetic Internship (NYDDI), where I help prepare aspiring professionals for the Registered Dietitian (RD) exam.My passion lies in addressing food insecurity and advocating for the belief that access to nutritious food is a fundamental human right. I am dedicated to educating individuals and communities on the vital connection between food and overall health, empowering them to make informed choices that enhance their well-being. Through my work, I strive to foster a deeper understanding of how nutrition affects quality of life, particularly within vulnerable populations.
