About Tanika Sofianti

Dr. Tanika D. Sofianti is an academic and researcher with a background in electrical and industrial engineering, currently serving as an Associate Professor at Swiss German University, Indonesia. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Pancasila University (1997), followed by a Master's (2002) and Doctorate (2013) in Industrial Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Her research interests include knowledge management, product-service systems, and the role of digital transformation in sustainable industrial development. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Sofianti received a research scholarship from the Ministry of Higher Education, Indonesia, and joined the Industrial Engineering Department at Waseda University, Japan, where she conducted research on measuring knowledge management performance. She has contributed to various initiatives supported by the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia, participating in speaking engagements, assessment programs, and research collaborations. Together with her research teams, she has worked on projects with several companies, applying LEAN methods, data analytics, and knowledge-based approaches for performance improvement. In recent years, Dr. Sofianti has been involved in the development of teaching materials related to engineering analytics and immersive technologies, supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) through the PKKM grant program. At SGU, she also coordinates research activities under the Center of Smart Industry, focusing on applied studies in digital transformation and sustainability. She is currently active in several professional roles, including as Department Head of Departemen Industri 4.0 & Digitalisasi under BKTI–PII (Badan Kejuruan Teknik Industri – Persatuan Insinyur Indonesia), and as PIC for SGU’s collaboration with the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI – Kemenperin). Dr. Sofianti’s achievements have earned her international recognition, including the "Woman in Industry and Academia Award" from the IEOM International Society in 2022. In 2023, she was certified as a Big Data Analyst by TÜV Rheinland. Her work reflects a continued interest in bridging academic knowledge with industry practice to support digital and sustainable transformation in Indonesia.
