About Tanisha Davis

I'm a Registered Nurse with over 24 years experience in the healthcare industry. I started my career in the medical field in the US Navy serving my country for eight years. Following my honorable discharge from the service, I spent the majority of my bedside career working in critical care in a multitude of specialties: Neuro ICU; CCU; Trauma, Surgical and Neuro-trauma ICU and PACU. My career focus shifted from the bedside to quality improvement and patient safety when I moved back to my home state of PA. I attended grad school at the University of Pittsburgh with Clinical Nurse Leader as my MSN specialty and obtained my national certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader. I have spent the last decade dedicated to improving the quality and safety of health care through the implementation of evidence-based research and Best practices. In my quest of continued growth and development, I have worked in a variety of roles at the hospital and corporate settings leading quality, patient safety, infection prevention, physician professional practice evaluation, peer review and risk management projects. As well as partnering with key stakeholders for successful Joint Commisiion surveys, Magnet Certification and other specialty cardiac and stroke certifications. As a life long learner, I completed my Six Sigma Green Belt and obtained my Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nursing Administration at Capella University in 2021. And most recently obtained my certification in healthcare quality (CPHQ) in 2022. Having spent the last 7 years in quality management, I look forward to continuing to grow as a leader and to share my knowledge as a nursing professor.
