About Tanja Schmidt

I caught fire digitalizing processes and seeing use cases come to (internet) life. As a creative, art-loving young person, I thought my career would follow the path of a free-spirited, wild artist. Life, however, had other plans. Due to family circumstances, I was forced to earn my own money at an early age, so I packed my canvases and paints into a closet and started studying business administration. During my internships, I worked for a city administration. And then the unexpected happened: The societal contribution I made through my work motivated me every single day to get out of bed. I had found my professional path- Applications that can be submitted online instead of waiting in line at impossible hours- Introducing methods, like cost accounting, to public administration to enable efficient work- Use IT to provide access to education where it otherwise wouldn’t exist. All of this continues to be my motivation to this day. With meanwhile over 25 years of professional experience, I am eager to share that motivation, lead, and develop people with passion. In my role as People Unit Manager for the Public Sector Domain in Germany at Capgemini, I can perfectly combine my focus on people leadership with my passion for public value. By the way, the canvases and paints have long since been freed from the closet. Painting is now, alongside traveling, playing football with my son, and yoga, my favorite pastime
