About Tanner Coffin

Passion, determination, and hardworking are probably the three most in common qualities that you would find on our team. The passion that I have not just for soccer but for the guys that I play with and the program I represented. I feel like this passion will carry over to the work force and allow me to put maximum effort into everything I do. Determination to get results and to just be self-driven is things we would hold proud about our program. Every practice coming to work to get better. Hardworking might be the biggest thing that our team and I had. We knew we didn’t have the best talent in the conference but we got results. This is because the amount of work we put in each week and during the off season. When you know someone is working that hard to get better it becomes so easy to trust them on the field. This is a quality of mine that I hold deeply to myself. I don’t want someone to think of Tanner as someone who doesn’t work or try at anything but rather someone that will come to work every day to make himself and the people around him better. I had an internship at Southwestern Methodist University (SMU) working in their athletics department. I worked with equipment and daily operations and enjoyed both so much that I feel like this is something that I would want to do with the rest of my life. Honestly, I love sports so much that I want to be connected to them somehow but I feel like these two areas are something I would be good at and enjoy the most. I learned how to order product and be well organized as an equipment manager. Along with working in a timely manner, you must get everything cleaned before the next practice or game. Traveling to away games, you must make sure every player has everything he or she will need for the road trip. Working in daily operations, I learned how to work with a team. In our area we had six people to work with. This made splitting up work easier but you had to know how to work with others well.
