About Tanya Blakely

I’m the Technical Leader of Science (Ecology and Biosecurity) and a freshwater ecology consultant with leading environmental consultancy firm Boffa Miskell. With professional experience in ecological surveying, monitoring and applied scientific research, I have an excellent understanding of the range of pressures on, and drivers of, aquatic ecosystem health. My breadth of research experience and teaching background in ecology, coupled with a strong understanding of ecological principles, gives me a robust, unique and varied set of ecological research, field, and consultancy skills. At Boffa Miskell, I provide ecological advice to a range of clients, from private landowners and developers, to district and regional councils, infrastructure contractors and government agencies. I am passionate about the natural environment, and spend some of my spare time enjoying the outdoors on foot and by mountain bike. I also enjoy honing my skills as a navigator, love participating in adventure races, and keep fit through boxing-fitness.
