About Tanya Ghai

Hello! I’m Tanya Ghai, an Education and Human Rights Representative at Hospital Employee's Union. I develop and facilitate educational courses and workshops using popular education principles and methods for HEU members. I also provide a wide range of labor-related services and to participate in promoting and implementing all policies and programs of the Union. My academic foundation is rooted in a Master of Arts Political Science degree from UBC, Canada and a Bachelor of Arts in Community and Regional Policy Sciences from Ritsumeikan University, Osaka. My professional journey encompasses roles in human rights and healthcare worker rights activism, union representation, research management, education coordination, policy advising, and gender activism. I bring a robust combination of skills in healthcare education, health policy, government liaisons, and gender-focused research, underpinned by a passion for cultural exchange and diverse learning environments. I define myself as a curious, passionate, accountable, and ambitious worker who looks forward to exploring cultural exchange, and new international and learning environments.
