About Tanya Sethi

Researcher at the National University of Singapore with research interests in Alternatives to Animal Research, Tissue Engineering, and In-vitro oral mucosal models to study oral health and disease. I am currently studying the impact of Oral Fibroblast Aging on Gingiva using complex 3-D Organotypic Cultures. I am fabricating fibrin-based mucosal cultures using young and aged oral fibroblast cells and oral keratinocytes. Later, characterizing the gingival equivalents by studying their morphological changes using histological, immunofluorescence techniques and Confocal imaging. Moreover, studying the changes in the secretome profile of culture supernatants by using ELISA and analyzing the aging-associated expression of genes by performing RNA extraction and PCR I am an experienced dentist with over 5 years of specializing in Root Canal Treatment (both rotary and hand), Crowns, Veneers, and Implants. Performed RCTs and 200+ dentures in 3 years, working across multiple institutions - Private, Public, and Charitable sectors.
