About Tara Baswani

Tara Baswani is an internationally acclaimed artist, designer, sustainability expert and social entrepreneur. As Co-Founder, Executive Creative Director at LembasWorks, a Sustainable Arts, Design and Innovation agency, she integrates over 25 years of global experience in the creative industries with interdisciplinary design approaches and strategic foresight to lead multidisciplinary teams and partnerships in creating sustainable futures. Her vision as a creative change maker is to design experiences, cultural landscapes and environments that spark participatory, transformative bridges between the creative industries and socio-ecological, environmental and equitable economic innovation to accelerate planetary wellbeing. As the first Indian music artist & designer to collaborate with Cirque Du Soleil, her work with the company has featured on The Tonight Show (Jay Leno), The Late Night Show (Conan O’ Brien), Fuji TV, CBC and across world tours. She has continued contributing as a strategic creative and sustainable development advisory. In 2015, Tara debuted Quest; an interactive, multimedia experience orchestrating bi partisan dialogues and actions for the Sustainable Development Goals, to acclaim on CBC, NPR, KEXP, Sirius XM, and on international stages like TIFF 2015, Hatch (2016). The project aligns human and environmental “stories that matter", with ethical technology platforms and ecological design. Her environment centred design thinking framework -"Create your Purpose” - was first recognised at COP21, Paris (2015) as was LembasWorks for its impact design innovations for creative industries. Ambassador for "Cultural Engagement for Social Change" at the World Social Forum,(Montreal, 2016), Tara has represented India and Canada as Keynote Speaker and her creations have been showcased at universities like MIT, McGill & IIT as case studies for creative & cultural industries transformation. As a Global Design Fellow at Buckminster Fuller Institute's Design Science Studio, Tara has developed neuroscience and circular design based experiential creations for accelerating the UN Global Goals and planetary regeneration. She proudly contributes to Sustainable and Social Innovation on the Advisory Boards of Global Dignity Canada and Microcredit Montreal.
