About Tara Cooke

as a volunteer coordinator at second harvest food bank of orange county, i help create an inviting and encouraging environment for volunteers to further the mission of providing dignified and equitable food to the community and end food insecurity. in my career i have used my social media skills, event planning skills, and project management to communicate the values of the organization, and to organize and facilitate engaging and meaningful volunteer opportunities. i have a bachelor's degree in sociology from california baptist university, where i developed a passion for social justice and community service. i have applied my education and interpersonal skills to grow relationships and provide amazing experiences for the volunteers, the staff, and the people we serve. i have also contributed to creating new programs and systems that have tripled the event capacity and upheld the quality of events. i am always looking for ways to improve and innovate, and to make a positive difference in the world.
