About Tara Doherty

I have been teaching in the private school system in Ontario for the past 12 years after living in England for 5 years and completing my teacher training at The University of Chichester. Since starting my career in education, I have been passionate about supporting, advocating for and teaching children with a wide range of exceptionalities. I have helped families navigate a new diagnosis, acted as a liaison between families and school and have helped families find the right community services to meet their child's needs. I have worked both in the private and public school system in Canada and England and am now working as the Director of Academic Services for the Possibilities Clinic in Toronto. I am a very energetic, enthusiastic and determined individual who likes to be challenged and finds change exciting. Through my experience and personal athletic accomplishments I have become an extremely focused, organized and self disciplined individual. My ultimate goal is to advocate for and do what I can to help as many children and family as possible who are exploring a possible diagnosis, navigating a new diagnosis or trying to find the right resources and supports to ensure their child's happiness and success.
