Background
About Tara Giunta
For more than two decades, I have guided global Fortune 100/500 companies to develop and implement pragmatic, results-oriented solutions to navigate rapidly emerging legal and regulatory business challenges in dynamic, highly regulated industries such as telecommunications, life sciences, technology, and manufacturing. As a Partner during its unprecedented 2017-2022 rapid growth period, I served as Vice Chair of the Investigations and White-Collar Defense practice, one of the firm’s largest and leading growth areas. During that time, I gained valuable experience evaluating and mitigating risks centered on ethical business practices, human rights, diversity, equity and inclusion, cyber security and data privacy, and climate transition. I am also a nonprofit board advisor and currently serve as the Board Vice Chair of the Thirty Percent Coalition, an independent coalition of institutional investors, asset managers, private equity firms, and public companies that addresses boardroom and C-suite diversity. I’m ready to take the next step and bring my years of expertise to corporate board service. I am interested in expanding my board outreach to startups, large-cap private, and small-cap public pre-IPO companies interested in rapid growth, digital transformation, business turnaround, or global expansion. What expertise do I bring to the table? Governance: As a six-year member of the Paul Hastings Partner Compensation Committee, I worked with developing compensation structures within the context of the firm’s business strategies, revenue targets, and P&L implications. Risk Oversight: I guide leadership and boards to identify and mitigate risk when developing compliance programs and disclosure frameworks. This includes conducting cybersecurity and data privacy strategies and approaches for assessing threats and formulating a breach response. Sustainability & ESG: As the Co-Founder and Global Co-Chair of Paul Hastings ESG & Sustainable Finance practice, I collaborated with the Funds Team to establish ESG goals and performance language for companies addressing climate change and renewables. Global Expansion: I regularly counsel companies on regulatory, compliance, and potential risks with new market expansion, whether geographically, through new business lines, or mergers and acquisitions, including potential divestments.
