About Tara Okeeffe

I left my career in the Human Resources field to pursue my passion for food and communications and relocated to New York City to attend the prestigious French Culinary Institute (FCI) where I completed the Culinary Arts program and graduated with honors in March 2011. My education and passion led me to an opportunity to work at FCI full-time as a member of the Culinary department where I had the opportunity to work with world-class chefs from around the world and share my passion for food as I coordinated the visiting chef demonstration program and other special projects. In November of 2012 I joined the team at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, NY as a member of the FARMS Apprentice Program, where for the first six months I trained in a variety of front of house service positions, as well as worked on the farm at Stone Barns and studied sustainable agriculture practices. During my time in the program I had a strong interest in learning more about beverage and beverage service and since graduating from the program have been hired on full time as the bartender/bar captain. My goal is to continue my education every day, learning as much as I can about food, beverage, and cooking and savoring every bite.
