Tara Piazza is a powerhouse of strategic leadership, digital transformation, and board governance, bringing over 12 years of experience to her current role as Chair of Wombat’s Wish and 25 years experience as an executive. Passionate about making a real impact, Tara thrives on driving organisations forward with clarity, purpose, and a touch of bold a strong track record across healthcare, not-for-profits, and major public and private sector organisations, I know what it takes to lead with vision. I've spent nine years on the board of the Institute for Breathing and Sleep at Austin Health and six years with the Mercy Health Foundation, tackling everything from personnel performance management, financial audits to major strategic shifts.My career is a dynamic mix of executive leadership roles at Goldman Sachs, Qantas, Myer, and Public Transport Victoria, where I've led large-scale digital transformations, championed customer experience, and spearheaded change in complex environments. An experienced executive coach, I'm also passionate about helping leaders navigate transformation and innovation.My expertise extends to AI governance, ethics, and strategy. I actively train AI models and chatbots and incorporate AI governance frameworks into board decision-making. In my consulting work, I advise organisations on AI strategy, ensuring ethical, responsible, and effective AI adoption.I am immensely proud of the work that Wombat's Wish undertakes. I work hard with the board and team to continue to provide life-changing grief support to children and young people across Victoria who have lost a parent. With my energy, governance expertise, and commitment to social impact, I'm driving Wombat’s Wish into its next exciting chapter.Now to credentials - I hold an MBIT (Masters of Business – Information Technology), have completed the AICD Company Directors Course, and am a Harvard Business School alumna. When I'm not shaping the future of organisations, you’ll find me sailing, practicing yoga, or advocating for mental health.
