About Tara Snyder

I solve problems for a living. I am a motivated and creative professional with over 19 years of progressive leadership experience in managerial roles in not-for-profit and post-secondary education organizations. I have sought out and developed substantial professional experience in both human resources and operations management. It is my belief that this experience has provided a well-rounded perspective of the many faceted challenges and opportunities that organizations face today. My career began in Human Resources with the completion of a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management; a diploma that I leveraged into progressive positions throughout my career. Always one who seeks out new opportunities, I recognized the need to improve the Human Resources and finance processes while in my role as HR Generalist at CCNM. Working with the Chief Financial Officer, Dean and HR Director, I designed a new process and customized reporting system which significantly reduced over payment, tracked financial obligations and simplified the requirements. Based on the success of this initiative and other accomplishments, I was asked to transition into clinic operations, an area recognized for needing greater administrative oversight. Starting as Clinic Manager and eventually being promoted to Associate Director, Clinic Services, I spent the next eight years working to improve the clinics by identifying, analyzing and resolving issues that faced stakeholders. These skills of collaboration, taking initiative, being self-directed and finding creative solutions are ones I continue to bring to all of my roles including my current position, Manager, Administrative Operations at the University of Toronto. In this role I am responsible for the effective coordination of administrative and human resources activities for the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. I love to learn new things. Since the achievement of my undergraduate degree and post-graduate certificate, I have continued to be a career-long learner and have sought out academic opportunities which complement my professional experience. I earned a diploma in Health Care Management through the Ontario Hospital Association and have pursued professional interests through continuing education courses in Data Visualization, Social Media Marketing and, most recently, began my Masters in Education.
