About Tara Vasanth

I am a 2nd year graduate student at the Yale School of Architecture in New Haven, CT. I'm passionate about the intersection of architecture, coastal resilience, and species conservation. I completed my undergraduate studies at William & Mary, with a double major in Art History (Built Environment) and Environmental Science and Policy, with a concentration in Integrative Conservation. My undergraduate thesis focused on biomimetic design. I co-created a now-implemented IB educational curriculum for grades K-12 on conservation and interconnectedness, based on the experiences of the indigenous Javari tribes of the Brazilian Amazon, working with activist and filmmaker Celine Cousteau. I served as student leader of William & Mary's IIC (Institute for Integrative Conservation), and prior to college, I volunteered at the Dallas Zoo for many years, along with being part of Destination Imagination (global non-profit for creative problem-solving). Good Morning Dallas Zoo (2018) Hullabaloo! Into the Deep Blue (2019) I am interested in pursuing a career in biophilic design and sustainable architecture, merging my passions for the environment and structural design.
