About Tarek Ebeid

Tarek is a partner in our San Francisco office serving public traded banking and capital markets clients. He currently also serves as the Partner in Charge of Professional Practice for the Bay Area Business Unit covering San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Walnut Creek, Sacramento and Honolulu offices. He is in charge of risk and audit quality in the business unit. He has also served as the global lead audit partner for the largest private equity audit client of the firm. Tarek is also a firm-designated Securities and Exchange Commission reviewing partner and has served in that capacity for the past 16 years. Tarek’s advises organizations on matters related to the scaling and enhancement of operations and controls to sustain effective organizational growth. He also advises clients on topics related to emerging accounting and regulatory matters, SEC reporting and disclosures, business combinations, financial instruments, fair value measurements, derivatives, credit risk and administration, and capital structures. Tarek exhibits superior client service skills, strategic thinking, and has a proven track record of successfully navigating and advising clients on challenging and complex matters. He has also led large global teams. He is trusted by his clients who seek his input and counsel. Tarek served as the partner-in-charge of the financial services practice in the Bay Area Business Unit whereby he formulated the practice’s strategy and oversaw its execution. The plan was formulated with a one-firm guiding principle whereby cross functional teams worked together to advise and consult clients in effectively managing and addressing various strategic and operational challenges and opportunities. From 2001 to 2005, Tarek served as a partner in KPMG’s U.S. Capital Markets Group in Hong Kong. In this role, he assisted companies in Asia Pacific interpret and apply U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, comply with US auditing standards and reviewed their SEC foreign filings. The clients included a variety of industries including, telecom, real estate, airlines, commercial and advertising firms. He currently serves on the Dean’s Circle of the School of Management as well as being advisory board member for the accounting program at the University of San Francisco. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from the University of San Francisco.
