About Tarsha Eason

I’m an Engineer working in the National Risk Management Research Laboratory of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. I began my EPA career in 2008 as a federal postdoc employing sustainability science approaches to coupled human and natural systems. My current work involves the development and application of quantitative approaches to address emerging problems related to environmental management, social-ecological resilience and linkages between exposure to environmental pathogens and acute and chronic infections. In many ways, I consider myself an engineer turned data scientist as my work involves developing methods and employing statistical approaches to assess patterns in data which facilitate the development of unique insights and solutions. I hold degrees in Electrical (BS) and Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (MS and PhD), have co-authored over 40 publications and am an Associate Editor of Ecology and Society. Also, I’m a sports lover and in my spare time dabble in sports analytics serving as the resident data scientist for Women’s Hoops World.
