About Taru Palsa

Currently I am working as a specialist in Rail Transport Planning in Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency. To my responsibities belong developing railway infrastructure capacity application and management processes in Finland. I work towards smoother co-existance of track works and rail traffic in our mostly single-tracked network. An operating environment with multiple transport operators requires new uniform working methods for the management of infrastructure capacity in order to ensure high-quality transport and equal means of action. I am Master of Social Science majoring in Political Science. I am also a sports enthusiast whose professional field of expertise includes participatory democracy, NGOs and bilingualism in Finland among others. I also have strong knowledge in research, most particularly in quantitative research and SPSS. On my spare time I like to do sports on a wide range, from swampvolley to walking in the nature. As an employee I am reliable and effective. I always strive to do my best in every task I take. I have worked in rapidly changing environments and experienced working in various types of teams, but I am also able to take initiative and work by myself.
