About Tarun Mathur

I am a Chartered Accountant with more than 17 years of work experience with extensive knowledge and exposure in finance, accounting and reporting in varied industries viz. industrial markets (trading and services), consumer markets, e-commerce companies, telecom tower business, oil and gas industry, outsourcing companies. I have led multiple project teams and my work experience includes- IFRS, Ind-AS and USGAAP financial reporting projects with specific focus on technical accounting issues - Managing close activities comprising monthly, quarterly, annual closing and reporting, GL Account reconciliations, Inter-company GL reconciliations and settlements, Financial statements preparation and audit management - Audit of financial statements with special focus on compliance with GAAP, statutory compliances, risk assessment, evaluation of internal controls, evaluation of budgets with actual performance, giving suggestions to top management on improvement of internal controls / industry-wide best practices. My role includes- Comprehensive project management – developing engagement strategy, monitoring of budgets vis-à-vis actual, team’s progress, fee analysis and billing, minimizing inefficiencies- Ensuring timely completion of deliverables with special focus on adherence with the firm’s global audit methodology and compliance with GAAP and statutory mandates- Identifying, researching and documenting risk assessment issues, accounting and audit issues with a view to provide feasible resolutions to audit issues- Coaching, motivating and developing staff through continuous performance evaluation and technical training.
