About Taryn Pedersen

Advocate for mental health and ending the stigma around mental illness. Taryn’s current role, which allows her to demonstrate what she wholeheartedly believes in, is a support worker for the Women and Children on the DTES by way of advocacy and developing loving, positive relationships. Currently in her third year studying at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Taryn’s major is in Psychology with a minor in Counselling and is working towards graduating her bachelors degree with honours thesis by April, 2022.Taryn has excelled in studying French in university as well as introduction classes of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, besides continuing to excel in her Psych and counselling classes. She has broadened her knowledge beyond the classroom by participating In Psychology research assignments, and has also volunteered her time to work in the psych sim labs for the psych nursing students practice evaluations of patients, which allowed her to gain hands on experience working with patients and nurses. Lastly, Taryn is a motivated team player, dedicated, and empathetic person which allows her to be understanding of everyone’s situation which is why she chose her career in psychology to help people. Her goal is to reach out to the people of today and help them conquer their struggles and help them meet their goals.
