About Tashia Jithoo

Tashia holds a BA (Hons), LLB (summa cum laude)(UKZN (Howard College), Dbn), LLM (Univ of Michigan, USA), PG Dip in Employment Law (UCT) and a Certificate in Training & Development Management (UCT). She has a keen interest in assisting companies in the legal industry develop and strengthen their training and development programs, as well as strategy and business development. Tashia is also a specialist pensions lawyer and has co-authored the textbook 'The Pension Funds Act: A Commentary' published by Hunter Law, as well as articles on pensions law issues. She is an independent trustee of several retirement funds and a leading beneficiary fund, is a trained mediator and also provides pension law training to trustees and others. A former national president of the Pension Lawyers Association of SA, Tashia regularly speaks at industry conferences and seminars and has also presented at the International Pension and Employee Benefits Lawyers Association (Ipebla) conference in Brussels. Before qualifying as an attorney, Tashia was a researcher/law clerk at the Constitutional Court of SA and an intern at the London-based Centre for Advice on Individual Rights in Europe. She has been listed in “Who’s Who Legal: Pension and Benefits” and is also listed as a “Best Lawyer” by Best Lawyer Global for SA in the category of Benefits. Available for: Independent trustee positions on retirement funds, beneficiary funds and unclaimed benefit funds in South Africa. She is also available to provide professional development training workshops on topics such as Time Management and The Rising Value of Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace.
