About Tasman Scott

As a Principal Consultant for Mitton ElectroNet (MEL) over the last 7 years I have carried out a range of assignments for the Distribution sector in New Zealand. My area of expertise is in offering management advice in the areas of emergency preparedness ( resilience ) and asset management processes and condition reviews. The furthest afield I have work is Istanbul in Turkey where I was asked to present aspects of risk management relating to the impact of the Christchurch earthquake sequence on the Orion network. I have done two sessions of secondments to help out when there have been executive movements and gaps in the organisation as a result. My long career in the Electricity Supply Industry involved early generation / transmission experience in the NZED followed by an extensive period in the Distribution sector which includes thirty years of corporate management experience at General Manager level at Orion and WEL Networks. I am now using this acquired wisdom to assist other Line Companies to improve their asset management performance and aspire to reach or exceed good industry practice. At MEL an Advisory group has been established to further these ideals
