About Tatenda Mapeto

I am a dedicated academic and consultant specialising in sustainable forest management, climate adaptation, and carbon management. With a PhD in Nature Conservation and over a decade of experience in both research and industry, I provide strategic expertise to organisations in afforestation, reforestation, and improved forest management (ARR/IFM) projects. Currently, I serve as a Lecturer at Nelson Mandela University, teaching and conducting applied forest management research as well as fundamental forest hydrology research. In addition to my academic role, I work on the design, development, and monitoring of forestry and forest carbon projects, helping businesses navigate the complex landscape of climate change mitigation and nature-based project development. My goal is to bridge academic research and practical solutions, contributing to the global NetZero and sustainable wellbeing efforts through innovative and technical advisory roles.
