About Tayla Sheldrake

As a seasoned expert in the hardtech startup space, I have an extensive background in identifying, building, and scaling innovative technology ventures. This has led to experiences which have given me a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that come with developing and commercialising complex, hardware-driven solutions. Recently, I decided to take my experience and knowledge to a new level as an early-stage hardtech startup investor. This allows me to support the next generation of innovators as they build the future of impact driven industrial technologies. I am passionate about leveraging emerging technologies to solve real-world problems and create positive social and environmental impact. My goal when investing in early stage startups is to navigate the challenges of building hardware products and bring their visions to life. My expertise in hardtech span a wide range of fields, from robotics, automation and clean energy to consumer electronics and wearables. I have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including NeoCarbon, MadeofAir, and Lite+Fog, and have helped bring many products to market. Aside from my current role as an independent investor, and advisor, I hold a leadership positions at the top hardtech innovation hub MotionLab.Berlin, as well as an MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from Lund University. I am an active member of the hardtech startup community, regularly speaking at industry events and mentoring aspiring founders.
