About Taylor Ariko
My undergraduate research focused on studying structural changes in neural connectivity within rodent models of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's Disease and Ischemic Stroke to detect and monitor disease progression. I conducted this research as part of an Honor's Thesis project at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. I am now a first year Biomedical Engineering PhD Student at the University of Miami. I have been selected as the recipient of the Dean's fellowship to study Carotid Ultrasound markers of Atherosclerosis and MRI markers of Cerebral Small Vessel Disease in patients at risk of Alzheimer's Disease at the McKnight Brain Institute.
