About Taylor Arrowood

I graduated from the University of Kentucky in August, 2021. I have a Master's degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor's degree in Geology from Appalachian State University in 2019. During my academic timeline, I worked on two research projects. The first was in my undergraduate program at App State where I processed over 70 transects of geophysical data (Ground Penetrating Radar and Electrical Resistivity) and collected a few transects myself, to help better understand the bedrock interface of a floodplain. The second was my Master's research project where I took on the challenge of trying to learn more about slab holes in subduction zones, a problem of much larger scale. This involved a complex suite of models and learning new skills every day. The second research project lasted about two years. My career goals include beginning my career in the geology or geophysics industry or something adjacent and seeing where this takes me. I am excited to see how the industry operates coming from an academic background.
