Background
About Taylor Baldwin
My teaching journey has taken me across the globe—from India to the United States, and most memorably, to Thailand! Teaching third grade students within an international school meant I spent warm afternoons fostering a lifelong love of learning within a safe and supportive environment. That experience taught me the power of trust, adaptability, and meaningful connection in the classroom—lessons that continue to shape how I support diverse learners today. Having taught in multiple international settings I have developed a passion for cross-cultural education and supporting multilingual learners. In my current role as a second-grade teacher at Quality Hill Academy in Kansas City, I create a student-centered classroom where differentiated instruction and project-based learning meet the diverse needs of all learners. I also serve as a mentor teacher, supporting a student teacher in developing effective instructional strategies. By combining strong literacy practices, including phonics intervention, with a focus on active monitoring, and student ownership, I strive to cultivate a classroom community where students are both challenged and supported. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt instruction and foster student success! Previously, as a third-grade teacher at Theodore International School in Chumphon, Thailand, I adapted instruction for linguistically and culturally diverse students, implementing co-teaching strategies and bilingual learning opportunities to deepen engagement. Earlier in my career in Houston, I focused on building foundational mathematics skills and tailoring instruction to individual learner needs, strengthening my ability to respond flexibly to student growth and learning differences. Across all these experiences, I have developed a collaborative, reflective approach that integrates rigorous academics, real-world learning, and social-emotional growth. This allows me to support students in applying their knowledge to authentic, meaningful experiences while developing both their academic and personal potential.
