Background

About Taylor Centers

I've always loved writing and reading, but my interest in editing started at Florida State University, where I earned a bachelor's degree in English literature and a Graduate Certificate in Publishing and Editing. Studying great authors and working on academic and literary projects at FSU sharpened my writing and editing skills and taught me more about the world of books, publishing, new media, and digital platforms.I have written and edited for the Florida Senate, the Florida House of Representatives, Atlantic Publishing Group, Inc, Rowland Publishing, online magazines, graduate students, doctoral candidates, and more—working on everything from memoirs and dissertations to state law and history books. Through these projects, I gained even more specialized experience by managing daily and weekly assignments; hiring, organizing, training, and supervising editorial teams; communicating with clients, authors, and supervisors; meeting deadlines; and ensuring the readability and accuracy of drafts.Outside of work, I like to write, read, draw, kayak, hike, take pictures, listen to an assortment of goofy black and death metal bands, and work on this LinkedIn "About" section.
