About Taylor Cockrell

I’ve had the privilege to work in a variety of roles that reflect my passion for animals. One of my favorite jobs was at the Kemah Aquarium, where I spent my days caring for stingrays, leading educational tours, ensuring the animals' health, and maintaining the facility to report to the marine biologists. This hands-on experience with aquatic life deepened my appreciation for animal care and the behind-the-scenes work it takes to ensure their well-being.Later, I transitioned to Lykan Fabrication, where the focus shifted from direct animal care to building immersive, safe habitats for animals in zoos and aquariums. Our goal was to replicate natural environments using innovative fabrication techniques and specialized animal-safe materials. Some standout projects included creating an 80-foot shark reef for the Houston Zoo’s Galapagos expansion and designing training platforms that mimicked the surface of the moon for NASA’s astronaut training program. This role allowed me to combine my love for animals with a passion for problem-solving and creativity. Now, I’ve taken this passion into the world of pet care and nutrition, where I run a blog called Milk & Holly. Through my social media platforms, I share nutrition tips and advice to help pet owners make informed decisions. My goal is to make healthy feeding options for pets approachable and enjoyable while continuing to explore how I can make a broader impact in conservation and animal welfare.
