About Taylor Cooper

Architecture and design have always fascinated me. As a child, I spent hours sketching floor plans of imagined buildings and obsessed over a third-grade project building a skyscraper out of cardboard boxes. Eventually I traded in my markers and construction paper for a formal education in art and architectural history, urban and environmental planning, and historic preservation. This education helped me develop a valuable skillset: designing collaborative processes, engaging in systems thinking, valuing diverse voices and perspectives, building consensus, and co-creating solutions. This skillset has proven valuable to me both in the fields of community planning and organizational development. Successful organizations – just like well-designed buildings and communities – need thoughtful blueprints and plans to serve as the foundation for success. One of my strongest themes in the Clifton StrengthsFinder is Context. People talented in the Context theme find “blueprints for the future” in understanding context and underlying structures, making better and more strategic decisions as a result.
