About Taylor Edington

I recently graduated from Prescott College, earning my Master of Science in Counseling and Ed.S. in Experiential Therapy in August 2024 from my CACREP institution. I obtained my LAC through the AZBBHE licensure board. I have various work experiences in management, customer care, and family services. Previous jobs have helped me build on my compassion, empathy, and management skills, as well as work with HIPPA compliance. As a Family Service Specialist, I approached families after their loved ones passed away for eye and tissue donations. Although challenging, this job allowed me to provide families with closure so their loved ones could help others. Providing compassion and empathy over the phone, with no facial interaction, was challenging but a strength I learned. I have learned different teaching styles working within all my jobs by either training others or teaching academically in the past. All my jobs have allowed me to gain different skill sets that have helped place me where I am today. I have completed the Appalachian Trail, a 2,200-mile trail, one and a half times. There I learned how to work with others in difficult situations when emotions are high, rely on myself and intuition, and make plans and schedules for hiking and resupplying while learning to be flexible. The trail provided an opportunity to see how humanity is still present and that good people are willing to help if you open yourself up to it. This accomplishment has been my greatest accomplishment, leading me to pursue counseling.
