My nursing career started in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) where I was trained in pre-op, PACU & phase II where same day surgery patients were discharged home. Throughout my PACU experience I found myself wanting to learn more about patient’s condition and provide care for longer than just their post-operative state. After one year I transferred to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) where I have been able to vastly expand my knowledge, critical thinking and nursing skills. I have since started to travel as an ICU RN which has required me to work in new environments and settings such as step-down units and medical surgical floors which I have had no prior experience in. Travel nursing has shown me how easily and quickly I can adapt to new environments and skills.
