About Taylor John

I’ve spent my career in the Midwest and Southeastern U.S. exploring the intersection between theatre, education, and community. For me, the practices of creating, teaching, and leading are deeply connected to one another. I believe in the theatre as a vehicle for a deeper understanding of our shared humanity; a space where we can question, explore, dialogue, and commune. My teaching career has allowed me to nurture and explore theatre as a force to create change and encourage development among young people and communities. I have learned an enormous amount from collaborating in this sphere; most importantly that the practice of creating theatre is not reserved for the choice few, but can be made anywhere and with anyone. For me, that urgency is what makes creating art exciting and vital.
