About Taylor Lightman

I am a program manager specializing in climate and sustainability initiatives, bringing a breadth of experience that spans from the international to the hyper-local. Drawing on my background in organizing and my education in disaster risk management, I focus on creating durable, impactful change. Currently, I design and implement two grant programs aimed at reducing energy costs for Pennsylvania families through energy efficiency and electrification, along with a third initiative to develop the workforce needed to support these projects. From 2021 to 2024, I directed a non-profit in my hometown of Lewisburg, PA, leading climate-smart neighborhood development efforts. My work included initiatives in housing, transportation, and community capacity building. Previously, I built extensive experience in democratic political campaigns, starting as a volunteer for President Obama’s 2008 campaign. Over the years, I contributed to municipal, statewide, national, and labor organizing campaigns across Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Georgia. I hold an M.S. in Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Adaptation from Lund University in Sweden and a B.A. from St. Olaf College, where I double-majored in Political Science and Religion. Additionally, I attended The Mountain School of Milton Academy (Spring 2010).
