About Taylor McElwain

As a Ph.D. student in Sociology at Virginia Tech, I am passionate about advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in various settings and contexts. I have a DEI in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education and an MA in Leadership in Higher Education from Baldwin Wallace University.I apply my academic knowledge and professional skills as a DEI Consultant at Celigo, where I assess, design, and implement DEI strategies and programs. I also coordinate the Student Resource Center at Baldwin Wallace University, where I support students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds and foster a culture of belonging and empowerment. I have delivered multiple presentations and trainings on DEI topics, such as implicit bias, microaggressions, allyship, and cultural competency.I am a strong communicator, leader, and advocate with a demonstrated history of working in DEI. I am also a podcast host, where I discuss current issues and trends related to DEI and social justice. My goal is to contribute to the research and practice of DEI and make a positive impact on individuals and organizations.
