About Taylor Monroe

My highest ambition in life has always been to serve others and help transform the world into a safer community one interaction at a time. This is why I decided to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in the turbulent and volatile realms of international economics and international relations respectively, as these subjects are critical to understanding how the increasingly globalized world functions. The courses I have taken at universities and the research I have conducted regarding these subjects have inspired me to pursue a career in government, whether it be working for a federal agency or a leading partner with such agencies, to ensure the security and prosperity of the nation while simultaneously providing leadership and guidance on the global stage. I have served in the Texas House of Representatives for two legislative sessions and have thoroughly enjoyed serving the people of Texas. I believed in the work I completed in the legislature and I strived to improve the lives of Texans any opportunity I got. Now, my goal is to advance my career beyond the state level and become a diplomat on behalf of the United States, serving both my fellow Americans and the greater global community. The world is a more harmonizing place when the leaders of the United States are actively engaged in promoting peace and prosperity on every continent, working to resolve conflicts between warring nations, assisting underdeveloped and developing nations in gaining access to clean water and electricity, and promoting fair and free global trade.
