About Taylor Morrison

I began my career at SHSU in 2016 at the Center for Community Engagement after being away from my hometown for undergraduate and graduate education. I returned to be closer to family, wanting to use the knowledge and skills I developed to make a difference in the community that helped shape me into the person I am today. As someone who grew up in the Huntsville community, I am fortunate to leverage longstanding connections and relationships to build bridges between the campus and the community. I feel rewarded to see incredible academic community engagement (ACE) courses develop from the work I do connecting faculty and community partners.One of the primary responsibilities of the CCE is ensuring SHSU maintains its national classification as a community-engaged campus. As a member of the writing team for the Carnegie Community Engagement Reclassification, I am privileged to tell the story of community engagement from across the entire university. While most of the work I do is behind the scenes, it is incredibly motivating to work alongside people who believe we can transform our students and communities through mutually beneficial partnerships.
