About Taylor P.

I am currently pursuing my Masters in Counselling plus an emphasis in health psychology at Santa Clara University. I will be graduating in June 2020 and continuing my search for opportunities that support my passion of learning as well as my professional development. In my four years at Pacific, being a student-athlete, I quickly learned about time-management, a skill that I consider my strongest along with my positive attitude, my hard-work ethic, and my willingness to learn. I succeeded in the classroom and on the court, maintaining a healthy life balance. After graduating, I accepted an internship within the education system at Saint Francis high school which showed me my true passion for working directly with people. Within the position, I was exposed to various departments such as counselling, teaching, coaching, fundraising, and special education. The most valuable skills highlighted during my time at Saint Francis were my self-sufficiency, eagerness to take on projects, and my ability to genuinely connect. The community showed me the importance of supporting colleagues which led me to my interest in the counselling and Human Resources. Upon the completion of my Masters degree, I will have a strong skill set for a helping and supporting profession. Through my education I have acquired skills in active listening, Motivational Interviewing, communication, emotional attunement, and mindfulness. My training has grown my compassion, empathy, positivity, and excitement; making me a strong, personable asset to any company and/or organisation.
