About Taylor Putman

I am currently completing my Doctor of Audiology (AuD) residency at Tampa Veterans Affairs in Florida, where I am gaining extensive clinical experience across multiple audiology specialties. My responsibilities include conducting comprehensive hearing evaluations, fitting hearing aids and cochlear implants, performing vestibular evaluations, administering Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) evaluations, and diagnosing Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD). I have the opportunity to work with specialized populations, particularly in the Pre-emptive Rehabilitation and Evaluation Program (PREP), where I evaluate and manage care for patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) sustained during military service. I also work with inpatient Veterans recovering from TBI, stroke, and polytrauma. These experiences allow me to incorporate auditory care into multidisciplinary rehabilitation plans, supporting patient recovery and enhancing quality of life. I am pursuing my Doctor of Audiology degree at Syracuse University, where I have gained hands-on experience with diverse patient populations. My internships have included working with pediatrics in early intervention, educational settings, ENT clinics, and private practices, where I performed ABR testing, CAPD assessments, hearing aid fittings, cochlear implant and osseointegrated devices fittings, and diagnostic evaluations. Additionally, I have worked with adults in various settings, expanding my knowledge in hearing loss, auditory rehabilitation, and specialized care. I have also worked with patients who have specialized disorders, such as down syndrome and autism in both pediatric and adult settings. This experience has helped me understand the unique challenges these patients face and refine my approach to providing tailored care. My career in audiology is built on a solid foundation in patient care and customer service. Before my formal training, I worked as a Receptionist and Audiology Technician in private practices, where I honed my communication skills and developed a strong commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. As I near the completion of my residency, I am seeking opportunities to continue my professional growth in audiology, with a focus on clinical practice and patient care. I am passionate about improving the lives of individuals with hearing loss and look forward to contributing to the field through innovative care and clinical excellence.
