About Taylor Smith

I'm Taylor Smith, and I was born and raised (and spent most of my days) in Raleigh, North Carolina. By the time I was six years old, I was helping my teachers install programs (probably just clicking "Next" a bunch of times - but it makes me sound like a child wiz) and my parents had bought me a desktop computer because I kept hogging the one at school. It was then that my love for working on and with computers was born. By the time I entered UNC, I had built a program used by a national organization, and since then I have developed pieces of software used by at least five of the Fortune 500. I have developed and sharpened my leadership and collaborative skills by working with teams in various companies and classes throughout my undergraduate and professional experience. While at UNC, on my way to a 3.99 GPA, I joined Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity and attained four leadership positions. I was also invited to join the Honors College and Phi Beta Kappa. Now working as a Software Engineer at Fidelity, I help solve the pain points of other developers as we not only transition into the cloud but also aim to deliver the best cloud experience to millions of customers. As I continue my career, I would like to continue to construct software to make people's lives easier and the world a better place.
