Multi-talented individual with high capacity for learning new skills. Test Engineering / Experimental Design: Experience helping to develop new practical test protocols/methods for chemical analysis, modifying related methods to suit a different purpose. In a research setting, I had even more freedom to design novel experiments. Quality Control / Regulatory Compliance: Experience internal auditing for ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 compliance. Also routinely performing instrument preventative maintenance and performing test method assessments (TMAs) to ensure analyses meet the client's custom specifications (if applicable) and/or whichever standard test methods they request (e.g. an ASTM or EPA method). Teaching (Math and Science): Former mathematics and biology instructor with about 5 years of math and science teaching experience, covering virtually every level - from elementary students to university seniors. Biological and Chemical Analysis / Research: I've used far too many laboratory tests and techniques - literally hundreds - to try to name here. I'm particularly knowledgeable in analytical chemistry, especially in an organic setting, and biochemical analysis, especially in the context of plants and/or genetics. My education in theory allows me to also accurately interpret these results, understand when something is off, and troubleshoot on the fly. IT / Programming: My background in technology is long and diverse. I've built scripts for my research to make predictions from genomic data, to visualize transcription data, and for general calculations/analysis. I've developed webpages with both client- and server-side scripting, and using both old (Perl/CGI) and new (Node.js/React) methods. I practice full-stack development on my home machine for fun. I can write code in many programming languages: Java, Perl, JavaScript, Python, Bash (Unix/Linux shell), R, SQL, C++.
