About Tea Bourdeau

I have spent the last two years teaching and gaining valuable experience working with a team, meeting deadlines, and managing my time. However, I decided that it was time to challenge myself with something new and began studying for my first actuarial exam, which I took and passed in March 2022. Coming from a teaching position I have a unique skill set and new perspective to bring to the actuarial field. Teaching has allowed me to gain experience communicating with a variety of people and change my modes of communication based on the audience. I work with students on a daily basis, regularly communicating expectations and explaining content. This has helped me to become extremely comfortable with one on one communication as well as presenting to a larger group. My experience in teaching has also helped me learn how to work under pressure and keep organized while managing constant deadlines. I have always shown great time management skills and the ability to prioritize my work in order to get things done independently. Throughout my time teaching I have also kept an organized data management system in order to track student progress and grades.
